Whatever happened to case badges?

It used to be, that every beige case you bought at a computer show had a little square indent somewhere for a "case badge". And every little computer reseller store had their own little labels that they put on their whitebox PCs.

Is it because Dell killed all of the smaller computer resellers, that we don't see case badges or indents anymore? Or is it more of an issue of the heightened desire for style in cases that they are no longer included?

All i see now are stickers and some raisedbadgeswith certain products. No indents on cases for them.

I got case badges for like all the main parts of my comp when I built it three years ago - PSU, mobo, GPU... don't know if it's still like that. Personally I say good riddance, case badges were teh uglayz anyway.

I love them, usually put them on my side panel now since case fronts turned into mesh intakes more often than not.

I miss the metal Intel logos. Pentium II logos were metal. Now they are just plastic stickers. 🙁

I had a roll of those. Don't remember where I got them, or what I ended up doing with them. I think I gave them away. (Don't tell me they're worth something now..?)

the last time i built my own computer i put them on the inside of the front drive door. it was kinda neat to have them in there but they didn't clutter the outside.
