i don't know. from what i saw, though, the show was getting too big too fast. to keep on outdoing itself it was going to have to blow the school up anyway.

HAHAHA. How much drama can one school possibly experience? The show was ridiculous.

I don't believe it's been officially cancelled, but AFAIK Fox has not ordered any more episodes, so it's effectively dead.

That's the problem with all of David E. Kelly's shows. He can't write interesting characters or good plots, so he resorts to going off the deep end. It makes most of his new shows pretty amusing short term, but he's always on the edge where he needs to keep getting more and more extreme to sustain things. Eventually all his shows collapse under the weight of their own pretension. Boston Public had one good season and then got completely insane. About the only absurd plotline he hadn't tried was having the school invade Iraq. It was far past time to pull the plug.

LOL HomeBrewerDude, we both used the weight metaphor at the same time. That's spooky.

Critics and a small loyal band of discerning viewers love Fox's "Arrested Development," but not enough people have joined our appreciative little club. This show's inability to get arrested will probably seal its demise.

Sucks, that's my favorite show on right now...

Yeah, I like that show too, but it was doomed from the start. Shows without a laugh track historically do very poorly. The vast majority of the TV watching public is braindead and they want entertainment that doesn't require any thought at all. They lack the ability to discern between funny and unfunny and not having a laugh track confuses them. Without being told when to laugh they can't figure out when to laugh on their own, so they think it isn't funny. Too bad, Arrested Development is very creative and has a nice sly wit that doesn't talk down to the audience. No wonder the imbeciles that adore all those dating shows can't get into it.

For those of you who are clueless (like me) who Nicky Katt is, it's Harry Senate.
