click me

its getting closer and closer. i can't wait!

"Vanilla flavored CK8-04 is very much the same as nForce3 250Gb, with the addition of 7.1 high definition audio and PCI Express." - with intel's hi def audio nvidia has to step up to the plate, i hope they do well.

"Even though the CK8-04 only supports 20 PCIe lanes, NVIDIA's elegant graphic solution runs 16 lanes into what appears to be a separate switching bridge chip. This bridge can be electrically configured to either run all 16 lanes to one PEG interface, or 8 lanes to two PEG interfaces." - i would figure as much, since the second card in sli runs on an 8x lane, why not just make them both 8x lanes. a 6800 can't use up all the bandwidth anyway.

good stuff, even if its not going to be called nforce4

"Ultra and Non-Ultra revisions will only support single CPUs. We can only assume the SLI version will not support multiple Opterons,"

There may be a 4th version not mentioned in the article "nForce 4 Pro" for up to 8p Opteron systems: http://www.x86-secret.com/?option=newsd&nid=783

This announcement also lists "SP-10 Soundstorm 2 audio" for the Ultra.

Too bad it doesn't have PCI-E and AGP...seems silly to by a $400-500 card now and it become useless if you upgrade to a board like this...

thats what Vias around for, i seem to remember a roadmap of theirs with PEG and AGP. but also you never know. intel board manufacturers have tacked on a AGP slot to the PCI bus for backwards compatabilty along with a the regular PEG slot at the top(the agp slot was at the bottom - agp needs to be closer to the chipset because of trace length), this from a chipset that DOESNT support AGP is pretty cool.

I got that from the translation here: vr-zone.com.

Maybe they added that part in themselves
