First here's my system specs

CPU - Quad 9450
mobo - Asus P5k, with Intel P35 chipset
current video - AMD 4850
4GB RAM

It's only 4 months away before Xmas, and the next wave of new games, and I wanna make sure I can play the next wave of games fully maxed out on 1600x1200. I'm thinking that a 260GTX+ by November then will be pretty affordable, plus a cheap (spell, Ebay) 8800GT/9600GT for Physx. Would you thinkt his combo be an optimum combo to cover all games, including those with Physx? I'm thinking a GTX260+ could be o/c heaven.

I don't wanna upgrade the mobo. Basically, I just wanna upgrade the "video subsystem" and make it the final upgrade on this system, and want to make it last into 2010. Unfortunately I got the crappy P35 chipset so no SLI, and CF is crappy. So I'm thinking but I can still run Physx; I wanna make the P35 breathe its last breath before it dies!

I have the 4850 which I got from BB in that $150 deal, so when I sell it on Ebay, I won't lose much, and put the money toward the new video card.

I know November is 3 months away, but any thoughts? I just wanna see how soon I should start thinking about ebaying the 4850 before it starts drop dramatically (like the 8800GT right now). If let's say a 260+ by November drops to say $230 (maybe even $200!), ebay 8800GT for $60 by then, that's under $300 (maybe even lower). And let's say I sell the 4850 for $120 on Ebay next month. $300 - $120 = $180 (or lower) for a 260+/8800GT killer Physx combo. Might be even cheaper if I go with 9600GT rather than 8800GT. But does this sound tempting to you?

(I'm done with gaming for now and can use a break, so I don't mind letting my 4850 go early to fetch more value. I have a spare video card on standby.)
