What you think about my new web site?

After about 3 years with a static CSS layout, I have decided to implement a CMS for my site.
After doing a research on Open Source CMS systems on http://www.opensourcecms.com/ (great site), I have decided to go with the Mambo CMS, just because they offer a lot of very stable and useful add-ons, modules, and excellent forums. Recently, the original Mambo Developer team has decided to create their own spinn off Mambo called Joomla, but for now, both CMSes are esentially the same.
When I started - about a month ago, I didn't know that much about CMSes. But because of the Mambo & Joomla forums, I was able to pickup it up relatively quickly (I think 😀).
When playing with Mambo, consider installing it locally, right on your Windows XP machine, using MSAS by MamboSolutions
it is a great and fast way of getting Apache, PHP, MySQL, and Mambo installed on your PC without a lot of commitment.
MamboSolutions has also a great tutorial on how to create templates for Mambo, although most of the Mambo templates still use table layouts instead of CSS layouts 🙁
They also have an additional tutorial on how to transplant your "local" site to your Web hosting service - tutorial, although make sure to go through the entire tutorial FIRST 🙂
What else?
I really like 404sef module for creating Search Engine Friendly URLs.
Also do not forget to creat and submit your custom sitemap.xml to google new program called Google Sitemaps

Without further delay, let me introduce:

I am NOT a web designer so practically everybody can achieve results similar to mine!
Good Luck
Mambo/Joomla ON

Cliffnotes:
- I didn't know that much about web sites 2 months ago
- Had a great experience with Mambo/Joomla CMS.
- It is very easy to use and their community support is great.
- My new website Computer Fix is created in Mambo.
- Anybody can make deacent looking web sites with Mambo!

Let me know what you think about my new site 😀

734...greetings fellow Michigander. 🙂

nice site, but tsk tsk for not giving reference to Mambo/Joomla.

edit: I like the links page 😛

I am giving Mambo a lot of credits right now 😀

Also,
Go here to read the Licence Guidelines
as it seems that you are not familiar with it (no pun intended)
5. May I remove "powered by Mambo, Copyright Miro etc" from the footer?
Yes you can although we would hope that you would retain it as a badge of honour.
Also, see the News section on my site for link to Mambo.

Edit: I had nothing but a superb service from my current web site hosting company:
SiteGround
They offer 5 GB of space + 100GB of monthly bandwith for $60.00 yr

that's actually not too bad. Not as good as CasioTECH 😉 j/k. I hate stock photos though... why not add a few real pictures as opposed to stock ones?

Well,
You have to start from somewhere, right 😉

And the stock photos aren't that bad...
This place actually has a wide variety of stock photos at fair prices:
IStockphoto
And there is anoter, with totally FREE stock photos:

Mambo is a Content Managment System, which in short means a blog, with a lot of advanced fuctions which helps you out to manage the site, create new pages, and add extra functionality.
Mambo does not build a template for you, but it helps with managing that template. You can control which page goes where, how many news articles you will have on the front page, where to put banners, menus, etc, etc...

Mambo is a lot of fun to use, actually. I run several sites using Mambo and once you get the hang for how things work, it's real easy to use.

Ditto,
The only thing I dont like about it is the SEF handling. It can be a pain not setup at times...

Decent site. You have a lot of spelling errors on the site though. Might want to look into that.

Nothing on a home page, checking other sites.
Can I ask you to elaborate some more?
