What year were the google maps satelite images taken?

I found my house but, but the local Vons thats near isn't there (is been there for 3-4 years I think). Is there a way to get real time satelite images from google?

Not real time, maybe six months or so. The satellite imagery is orbital, in other words, real time would imply that there is a stationary satellite for every point on Earth.

No. And the time they were taken varies greatly. And for the most part they're aerial survey photography, not satellite photos, IIRC.

I would almost bet to say that some of the photography in sparsely populated areas could be almost a decade old....Where I'm now, buildings that have been here for 6+ years do not show up!
