What year did Honda start putting the cruise control controls on the steering wheel?

I am thinking of getting a civic and I noticed a newer looking one in the parking lot at work today that had the cruise control controls on the steering wheel, can anyone tell me what was the first year they started doing that.

I'm not sure about the exact year, but FWIW, my 1998 Accord had 'em on the steering wheel.

GF's '88 Camry has them on the turn signal stick. It's really annoying.

The cruise control controls are on my steering wheel on my 88 Prelude.

What I meant was have the controls on the steering wheel itself, not on the turn signal stick on the steering column
