Looking to get the most stuff for the least amount of money. I didn't include a video card at the moment because I am going to use my TNT2 for a little while longer until I can afford the extra $240 for the gForce4 4400.

Cut the ram from 2700 to 2100 that I was thinking about getting since I doubt it will make a difference to me, and went with the non-raid mobo because, well, I have no need for raid.

I will be pulling my Sound Blaster, DVD, cd-rw, floppy, NIC from my current POS I am running.

Went against an Antec case because I am not in the mood for such a huge case.

Went from 2200 to a 2100 to save money because the 2100 retail box w/ fan was cheaper by a bunch then getting a 2200 and an add on fan.

For use for gaming. WarIII in paticular.

Comments?

Then wait for more money to get a new vid card. This system wll utterly dissapoint you with a TNT2. Otherwise lets see, I would get the Asus A7N266-C or Abit NV7-133R if ocing doesnt matter to you for the mobo. They both are loaded with onboaird goodies, and cheaper than the KR7A-133, if u dnt need the onboard stuff, and if ocing doesnt matter, then get a MSi KT3 Ultra for $70ish. Can't comment on the case's power supply, but I would stillg et if not an Antec Case, then an Antec Power supply. Good choice on the CPU. DDR266 is ok, DDR333 Hardly helps the athlon at all (>5%). LMK if u could use some more advice:)

I just picked up the Abit KV7 nforce $89, the Antec SX660 $107 from newegg. You might want to look at that case(should be quiet and quality). With the nforce you will have the nic and sound onboard. Not sure if it is what you are looking for gaming though.

Edit: I got the 1600 XP also, $130 less.

I'd get an Athlon 1600+ and overclock the sucker (only 67 bucks if I remember correctly)! People have been having GREAT success with that. Then use your left over money for a Radeon 8500 64MB for 94 shipped!

No need to pay the price premium for that higher speed processor, especially since it would only be paired up with a TNT2. The Radeon 8500 is still a good card and will run anything out now very well and future games decently. You could then later upgrade to the R300 or a NV30, since you only will have spent 94 dollars on this card.

It is such a great value and much better than your TNT2.

Edit: You could later sell the 8500 and get a lot of your money back.

You should skimp out on the motherboard and put it towards the video card fund. Also, you WANT a good case. DO NOT overlook the case. With that CPU, it'll run hot and you really want good cooling in your case.

Amazon has the SX800 for $59.99 with free shipping. Add in a $5 off $35 coupon and it equals $55 shipped for a nice Antec case. But it does not include a power supply
