What would your idea of "user-friendly" be?

I was having a discussion with a co-worker of mine on what "user-friendly" was.

She considers user-friendly being "ease of use". (Basically, click click click done)

I consider user-friendly as it will let me do what I want, how I want it, when I want it. (different variations of things, could be the above method or complete CLI (Command Line Interface) control)

No poll since there could be more variations then I can think of

User Friendly refers to intuitive design. Basically how easily someone who doesn't know the application can sit down and use it.

Being able to do what you want with the application refers more towards open ended / versatile and does not necessarily make it user friendly.

You co-worker is right... what you are referring to is something I like to call "functionality"

i consider user-friendly to be... even a newbie can jump on and learn about how to do it. an intermediate user will be corrected when they make mistakes, and an advanced user is able to fully customize. moreso the middle though... ie. if you screw something up, you are notified and can fix it easily.

I find user friendly to be defined as being intuitive, so that ANYONE can sit down and use it.

What you're talking about is flexibility, and functionality, so I'm saying your co-worker is right.
