So I'm putting together a website that serves a fairly local community. Now, NYC is a larger community than most "local" communities, but I want to bring a small town feel to the big city through this forum. What are some categories you'd like to see? What features should we have?
My main reason to have this forum is to freely advertise local events/parties/etc. while eventually getting advertisements (or free beers!) from local bars for coverage. So an events section is mandatory. Whatever else is on there is strictly to serve the locals. Our target demographic is new New Yorkers 21-35.
Thanks!
My thoughts for a hierarchy - is this split up a bit too much? Any thoughts are more than appreciated:
Events
Off Topic
Dating in the City
Roommates - whine about your current ones/find new ones
Bar Reviews
Restaurant Reviews
Music, Film and the Arts Discussion
Politics/Local News
