Ok so I am at work and attempting to show someone where to find information on a website. In the middle of the screen theres a map of the U.S. and you can click on an individual state to narrow down the search. I asked them to click on the state of Texas to which they replied "We not in school. I don't know which one that is.".........

I'd be polite, and show them where Texas was, while thinking they were one of the dumbest fuckers I ever met. If their response sounded especially snotty, I might not be so polite, and I'd just tell them they were one of the dumbest fuckers I ever met.

Totally understandable if you're on the East coast. They regularly act as if the rest of the country doesn't matter.

As opposed to Texas which generally thinks the rest of the country doesn't matter.

Turn off the computer and hand them a coloring book and some crayons.

Best answer so far.

What I'd do would depend a LOT on how confident I was in my position and how much I valued that job, but most likely I'd make a face about like this

then just before they start to say something I'd continue the demonstration until I could leave. If I had gone out of my way to help them I'd never bother again, and if that were part of my duties I'd just forget about it and move on to whatever's next. There are a ton of stupid people out there, some of them extremely so, and there aren't enough minutes in even the longest lifetime to get bent out of shape over every one I run into.

I over heard a phone conversation on my scanner years ago of a woman who thought Florida was near California. LMAO!

As much as I'm not too fond of Texas other than Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top and a lot of steaks produced, if you live here and don't know where Texas is, you're not a Merican.

It's that big huge blob on the bottom of the map :)

We had this dumbass girl living with us briefly a few years ago. She was in her mid-20's and has a high school diploma.

Her and I were watching the Obama inauguration and she asks me this: "So now that Bush is no longer president, does he go back to being a senates?"

Yes, she said "senates" - not senator - and even if she said it correctly, it is still a cringe-worthy question.

She also asked me if Ted Kennedy was JFK's father.

Wow.

Almost as cringe-worthy as "Her and I".

Brain trust there

Reminds me of a girl who was in my freshman history class who asked during our civil war discussion "who won the civil war?"

Before anyone could laugh or the teacher could muster up an answer she said " oh I know , the Americans "

Can't find Texas? That's pretty bad, that's about the 3rd easiest one to remember.
Although I probably could only label about half of them. My excuse is that I was never taught them and have no reason to know them.

A lot of people native to the US talk like that around here. The strangest thing is, people who talk like that often insult those who choose to talk correctly and imply that they're pretentious.

Was she hot, bro?
