^ to quote from Office Space...

I find myself inbetween a rock and a hard place as I criticize the Moderators. Last time I checked, you guys/gals work for free. Even if you don't anymore, you deserve to be paid. I've been known to defend your actions on occasion and roll my eyes at all the "biased this, biased that" comments.

If it wasn't obvious, I am kidding with my Office Space quote. I know you guys/gals do quite a bit here and I am appreciative. It seems, as of late, that little to no effort is being put in at ATOT to segregate politics & news from OT.

I block only 1 part of this forum, which if you havn't guess already, it's P&N. It's not becuase I don't like politics, or that I can't participate in a political conversation. It's the simple fact that my time spent on AT is for entertainment purposes and to get away from the serious topics of the world. This is, was, a computer hardware forum.

Maybe I am just being naive? Is it just the nature of the beast? Not only are political discussions started and continued at will in ATOT, but everything seems to turn that way. Threads arn't locked or moved.

I've seen the "babysitter" comment posted numerous times by the Moderators, yet the kiddies run amuck.

The U.S. is not a happy place politically these days so I'm not surprised ATOT is rocking with political overflow.

This I understand, but it's not even overflow. People just stopped carrying about posting things in the right place and the Moderators seem to be on that same bandwagon.

I agree about the political posts. it seems that someone is always starting one. worse than that are the asshats that have to take a cheap political shot in every forum, even if it is about photgraphy, pets or YAGT. that really pisses me off.

i kinda like the occasional news thread though. when the kiddies in OT were a little better behaved, there was a lot to be learned from the news links... well, more like current events links. there was a time that whenever anyone i knew from online of RL sent me a link, news story or bit of information... i had already seen it in OT first. it was not bad.

but i do agree that OT has WAY too much politics. I would like to see them all locked. but how would one deal with the small number of asshats who feels compelled to post political crap in every thread?
