Yeah but if you're sucky and uncoordinated you could miss and overswing and while you're recovering from the momentum of the bat that hit nothing, the guy could stab you in the face 5 times.

I'd like to have the knife. Tempt the guy to swing and miss and then go in for the jab.

Hockey stick without a doubt, though, it's longer and it has a blade, of sorts. Harder to miss.
