Trek! So give me money.

Not to mention that long term security is much better than instant gratification for considerably less.

I hope those coworkers of yours aren't in charge of anything important at work.

I already have a car and should have a million within 10 years.

So this poll is sorta weak...

So you'll give me a million bucks AND a car (a crappy one, but meh, a crappy car is better than no car)? Awesome!

Depends on inflation over the next however many years, the new car might be more than the $1million depending.

I'd take the $million based on current inflation

obviously though, if you take this at face value, and you have other funds, of course you would take the 1 million dollars in ten years and drive whatever car you already have..but lets say you have no other money/possessions

That's nothing. I live in Dallas and drove a car in the summer with no A/C and had electric windows that the motors were fried so you couldn't roll the windows down. I just had the vent blowing on MAX all the time.

damn, life as a poor person must suck :p I spent my first 20 summers of my life in Dallas, and not one of them without AC..I can only imagine trying to go for a date, and you show up completely drenched in your own sweat..then having to take her back into that hell hole..

I'll take the new car right now. The Cylons will probably attack within the next 10 years anyway.

Heh i'm in a similar situation, though not as drastic...graduated college two years ago, have a good paying job but i'm only driving a 99 civic right now. I want to buy a new car in the $20k-$30k range, but it just doesn't seem like a financially wise decision given the fact that my "beater" works just fine.

But yeah, in this thread's case, if the beater will last me for 10 years i'll take the million.
