What would you keep... Radeon 8500LE or Leadtek Geforce3 Ti500?

I have tried the latest 3286 drivers for Windows XP and they seem fine.
Games are good and I have only noticed a slight lag when screen has lots of detail. This may be because of the OS rather than the card.

I wish people would get off the "ATI buggy driver" kick. I have a geforce 2 in my wifes machine (use to be mine uptil I got my Radeon) and I have had just as many problems with NVidia drivers, if not more problems, then with ATI drivers.

All drivers have bugs in them, just some are exploited more then others.

As for the choice on which video card to choose, I would go with the 8500.

Daniel

I wish people with as much knowledge as me would post here, but can't have everything....

ANYWHO, back to real life. The drivers from ATI have always been more buggy the nvidia's, this is a fact, not a opinion.

TI500. LE is underclocked OEM card, and should be compared with Ti200.

I'd go with the Ti500 as well.
No telling what will happen with the R8500 in the months to come.
It might have allready reached it's peak performance with the current drivers, lol.

I'm not saying the R8500 is a bad card, it's just that choosing the Ti500 is a safer way to go right now.
The Ti500 is still unbeatable for the best gaming performance.

1: Because it's cheaper but performs up to par

That's a a joke right? The Ti500 beats a normal 8500 so it'll be a lot faster than the 8500 LE.

Definitely stick with the Leadtek Ti500. It's an absolutely superb card.

I'd take a normal 8500 over the Ti500, not the LE. They aren't even in the same category, as the 8500 is cheaper than the Ti500.

I wish people like you would stop posting actually. ATI drivers were buggy in the RageIIc days, soon as the Rage 128 hit, they reworked their drivers, and I have never had a problem with them in anything. This included Rage128, Rage 128pro, Rage Fury MAXX (which should be the most buggy, but no problems), Radeon LE and the 8500. I have yet to expirence these bads drivers everyone talks of, and I know its pure BS. Issues wise on messages boards, both cards have rougly the same # of topics, and most can be worked around for both cards.

According to Tom's hardware, the tv-out on the Ti200s was absolute crap, and had major driver problems. Since they are basically the same card, I'd guess the Ti500 has the same thing, and I'd avoid it. Nvidia might be good at giving you stable drivers, but it takes them a long time before they get new features right (personal cinema, tv out, intial gf3 release is proof enough)

Its just that the LE version is £50 cheaper in UK and there are not a lot of retail cards about.
That is why I chose the LE version. So far overclock to 260 engine and 260 memory clock. I have tested with various things and achieved 8161 score in 3Dmark2001.
Thing is I have the Leadtek arriving after Xmas but wasn't too sure if it is worth it so at the moment I have cancelled.
I would just like to know of someone who has tried the Radeon 8500 and a Leadtek Ti500 or similar to say which they prefer???
