Hello,
I need advice on what I should keep. I just got in on a dell deal for the dimension 9100 for about $750.

It comes with Dual Pentium D 840 3.2ghz, 1gb ddr 533mhz, 160gb hard drive and a 256mc pciE Ati X600.

Currently I have a P4 LGA775 (i tihnk thats right) 3.2 ghz, 1 gb corsair value ddr, asus p5gd1 mobo, zalman fan, ati x800xl, antec neopower 480?? PS, and a 37gb raptor.

If I keep the dell I'm going to switch the video card over and raptor. So I'm wondering what should I keep? I'm gonna start video editing soon. SO basically which one is better? Is dual really that much better? I know AMD is better but for this price you really can't go wrong. Thanks for all opnions!

Why did you buy this??

I would have bought a MOBO and X2 combo for your current machine.

maybe something like a DFI Ultra D or Epox 9npa+ ultra and a X2 4400+ for less then $750, then I would have kept the rest of what you have. This setup would have PWND that Dell.

The dual core will be better for video editing assuming the software you use can take advantage of the second core, but I would take the others advice, sell the dell and upgrade your current rig to an AMD X2, as the slowest X2 can beat the fastest pentium-D while producing a lot less heat. People are having serious heat issues with the pentium-d's.

I'm going to sell my P4 and motherboard and upgrade to a X2 system

Whats a good motherboard to go along with an X2 4400+ thats compatible with corsair value ram? I'm not going to OC so anything is fine. Just want some stability. Thanks

What would be better performance wise? X2 4400 with 1gb crucial value select or x2 3800 with 2gb ocz platinum? I ask this because someone is selling the 3800 in the F/S forum. The price wise would be the same.
