19" lcd's can't do 1600x1200. 🙂

FOund that out the hard way yesterday 🙁

Thought I was getting a great deal on a 19" samsung 192n for $230, only to find out it can't do 1600x1200...I'm so dissappointed...

That's still a great deal!

If it's a very good 15" compared to an average 19", I'd take the 15. Good LCDs tend to be easier on the eyes (for most people.) And they create a lot of extra space on your desk, not to mention look much cooler.

If the 19" CRT can do 1280x960@85Hz or 1600x1200@75Hz, then I'd take the CRT over 15" LCD any day. However, if it's crappy 19" CRT versus acceptable 15" LCD, then I'd take the LCD, especially if space was a concern.

CRT . . .

the LCD is too small and the native resolution is not good

i have a 15" laptop, but that's capable of 1400x1050

CRT all the way. I have a 15" LCD kicking around..just upgraded to a 17" LCD, which is still about an inch smaller than a good 19" CRT. There's no going back to 1024x768...1280x1024 or above is much, much better.

Get a true flat CRT, though..
