Just got off the phone with my little brother's wife. I know they are poor people so I asked what they got their kids for Xmas. They got clothes and a bunch of small gifts. He has three kids and makes little money. I had heard them say before that their oldest son wants a bicycle. I asked if they got him one. Her reply is no those are too expensive. I asked and she said they were like 50 or 60 bucks. I am 99% sure I'm gonna go ahead and buy it. It just makes me wonder if they are just tight asses or if they just don't have the money. Sometimes my lil bro will call into work too. That pisses me off too. The reason I do okay money wise is cause I work my ass off. I just don't see how you can't come up with $60 for your kids Xmas? Don't know if I left out any relevant info?

get the bike and let your brother give it to his son.

Agreed. Regardless of whether or not they can really afford it, the only one really losing out in the situation is the kid. Get him a bike, let your brother give it to him, and feel good about yourself for a while.

I understand where your brother is coming from. My wife and I have gone through hard times in the past. $60 may not seem like a lot, but it sure can be depending on what bills they have, and whatever unexpected expenses may have popped up. When my kids were younger, I had to call in a lot to work. My wife and I both work full time, and the kids aren't allowed at daycare if they have a fever, so one of us would always have to stay home with them. Thankfully things have improved for us quite a bit in the last few years, but like I said, I can see maybe where your brother might be stuggling. Especially with 3 kids.

ok, i've seen 2 people say it now...wtf do you mean when you say "had to call into work" or "calls into work"? are leaving a word out or what?

are you trying to say you had to call off work? No matter what I think of, it doesn't even make sense in the context you guys are using it.

I'm pretty sure they mean "calling into work sick" but leave the sick part out because it's full of lies.
