I work in an office building in the downtown part of Jonesboro, AR. The particular area that this office building is located in is pretty ok, but just across the street it turns ghetto... quick. This week I have been having to work nights because the servers that I am managing need hard drive upgrades in them. Anyway, I am here... alone.... so I keep my gun with me (Steyr S40). Anyway, when I venture outside for anything I carry it with me cocked and locked with Talons. Would you do the same? If not, what would you do?

BTW, I'm a 5'6" white guy... not the most imposing visage for potential ne'er-do-wells.

As of yet, I do not have a Carry and Conceal. I am planning on taking the course in the latter part of next month.

I call shens - there isn't a ghetto anywhere in jonesboro except maybe way across town.

I went to college there, and I'm from a town which has a bona fide ghetto. . .

Never once did I feel unsafe there 😛

Of course I'm 6 ft and 300 pounds - so I'm slightly more imposing - so who knows.
 
I probably wouldn't sweat it too much, but the pistol is certainly a reasonable precaution.

This is way across town... by the hospital. There was a boy shot and killed just two blocks away from where my office is about three months ago.

BTW, When did you go to college here?

I use to live right by St. Benards. I would not regard that as a ghetto. The part I'm talking about is way across town from there over by the Rice Plant (I forget the name of the street over there).

I was in Jonesboro 1995-1997 and back in 2001-2002 to finish.

Yeah, that is infinitely rougher over there, but there is Baker, Creath St. and several others over here that get pretty rough at times.

Cool, maybe we met sometime or other... not like there are too many people here. :laugh:
