someone gave you that? Very nice....looks decent...I would just put it in my room and make an mp3 player out of it...

You already said you won't give it away to me, so I'm out of good ideas.

Toss a bigger HDD (80-120gb) in there and make it an mp3 jukebox/webserver. You could also try making it a PVR, but not sure if a P2 450 would have enough juice. Depending on what game and what your internet connection is, you might be able to use it as a small clan server as well (if you game of course :)). I've got a very similar P3-500 rig which I use for that purpose, but I've moved my game serving to my 8KHA+/T-bred A rig.

hmm good idea chiz, but i already have a clan server running on an t3 in virginia :-D, I think I am going to make it into my music station. Once I hook it up with a better soundcard, onboard is not kind to my logitech z560's. Any other idea's?

If its purely for music, you could check out the TB Santa Cruz (which people rave about for music reproduction) or one of the Phillips cards that are supposed to be good as well. In the higher-end consumer area, the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 is supposed to be the way to go. Also, do the Z-560's support multiple inputs (I have no idea). It might work better if you hook it up to your HT system, as it might be redundant to have it set up next to your main rig. Put the two on a network and you'll have access to all the mp3's remotely, while the HT system would have access to tons of mp3's with excellent audio quality via either s/pdif digital or 5/6/7.1 analog.

It should also run DivX movies smoothly, as my PII-300 with 96RAM served me well while it was alive.

I have been checking out slackware for this lil rig. Since I got it home i havent even looked at the inside to make sure the baggage handlers didn't pilfer the internals because gods knows they messed up the case. Good thing I have spare.
