What would you do with this hardware?

Here's the situation:

I have:

SB Live (MP3+)
ATI AIW Radeon
TDK Velocd CD/RW (12x10x32)
256MB stick of Cruial PC133 cas2 Ram

(original Dell PII333 w/128MB ram and DVD/ROM)

What I'm looking to do is upgrade the MOBO/CPU to either AMD or Intel; I know this is a common issue, but I need some real advise from some of you who have experience with this type of combo. What I need is STABILITY/COMPATABILITY over all out speed. I'm willing to do some tweaking, but don't want to spend all my time resolving conflicts with hardware/software issues.

I'm especially looking for advice on MOBO/CPU combos; RAID(along with ATA100 support) is a plus as far as I'm concerned.

Where would you turn with these comments in mind; AMD or Intel?

You wanted speed. AMD it is then. Unless you want pricey POS then you can be an intel whore like me. Good day! =)

For stability/compatibility I'd get a good brand name Intel 815E
chipset board with Pentium III 1 gig. ASUS, Intel......
