2 months? that's a long time. are you a reseller or otherwise run a business off ebay? cuz if this was just a one off thing, I wouldn't feel that it was my responsibility any longer. 2 months is a while and anything could have happened during that time.

This isn't the same as "it's broken". Dell knows it is defective and is willing to refund the full purchase price. Why should the ebay buyer get nothing?

I know it's not the ideal situation for the OP, but everyone getting their money back seems to be the fair solution. He'll lose the profit on the deal, but will be made whole. He still has the option for selling it again on ebay and maybe next time the buyer won't need to do envelopes and will love the printer.

Why should the ebay buyer get nothing? Because the ebay buyer didn't purchase it through Dell! If the buyer would have, instead of trying to save a few bucks by buying on eBay, this situation would not have even happend.

I told the buyer the only way I would have given a full refund is if it were unopened and unused. He received a new but refurbished printer from Dell and is trying to give that to me to get a refund.
I told him I was willing to give him a refund minus the shipping and also HALF of the difference from what Dell refunds me and his purchase price. Then this dummy sends an email pretty much demanding that he wants a full refund.
Oh and get this, I don't do this for a living. I just got in on a couple of good Dell deals so I bought a few and resold. The guy emails me and says "I notice I didn't pay sales tax to you, would you like me to pay it for you to the State of California?".

Absolutely! Who knows what this guy did between now and the time he got the printers.
