What would you do with $950...

I don't have it so I am not looking for advise just wanna know what you would do with $950 Cash!


I made a list of the stuff I would do:

A Geforce3 Ti 500
256mb more RAM
get a 19" monitor
Then some more clothes

I think that would finish it off

If you have debt, Pay it.

If you're debt free, save/invest it. (paying down debt is more profitable than saving or investing)

Anything else is a waste of money. You don't gain wealth by blowing money, or carrying large amounts of debt.

I'd have a new rear floorpan welded into my 914. Either that or I'd have the right rear seatbelt anchor re-welded into the floorpan of my Accord, that way water won't come through the rust hole anymore. (Actually $950 ought to be enough to do both.)

If you owe anything on your credit card(s) I would pay them off immediately.

Why?

Let's say you have 3 cc's carrying a total balance of $950 that's roughly $18 interest every month.

$18 x 6 months = $108 interest, in other words free money you gave to the credit card companies.

If you are paid current on your rent, homeowners insurance, utility bills (winter = high bills), car payment, car insurance, cc bills, etc then here's how I would spend $950:

1) Open savings or checking accounts with ING Direct and NetBank - $100 FREE (see my sig)
2) Invest your funds into a Certificate of Deposit or simply put them into a savings account to earn interest. For instance ING Direct is currently paying 3.25% on a 1 year CD.

If you have bills outstanding, pay them.
