What would you do with $2.500?

I have a dilemma...
The company I work for has given me 2,500 dollars towards the purchase of a Monitor. I want high resolution, 19-20 inch screen, and the least bulk possible. This money can't be used anywhere else, so I'm not worried about the best value, only the best product. I would love a high res flat screen, but I know nothing about them. I had a Sony Trinitron 20" Which I loved, but it was just too big (lengthwise, not screensize). Any suggestions comments etc are appreciated and store names are just as good. Thanks!

If its word processing ya an LCD might be the way to go.....but it really depends on what you do...

Sony 24" FW900 Trinitron. 16:9 for DVD playback and HUGE resolutions at USABLE refresh rates! The best computer monitor I know of. It'll set you back about $2200 ish.

BTW, the current 24" widescreen monitors by Sony (they're all the same, even from other manufacturers like Compaq) are 16:10, not 16:9, so if you intend on using them to display HDTV or DVDs they're going to be a bit off (black bars). Still a good deal tho. I've seen some of them new on egghead.com for around $1300.

You said you didn't want alot of bulk though? Have you considered any of the 19" flat-panel monitors? They come in at about your price range and I hear they are getting quite good now.

Thanks for all the help. I settled w/ a 22" NEC full size. Nothin beats the clarity! :) Thanks for all the input.
