They may be getting larger, but they are getting smaller proportionally. The top of the line supercomputer from 10 or 12 years ago has less power, memory, and disk space than most desktops do today. Plus, desktops today come with sound and graphics...

Personally I like the idea of cluster farms... such warmth.
