Situation: You need to get your laundry done. There are only 3 washing machines in your apartment building. All 3 machines are full with someone's clothes, but they have already been washed.

Decision: Do you remove the other person's clothes from the machines and get your own laundry done, or do you wait for hours for that person to return? Does the gender of that other person matter?

;)

Yes, gender does matter. You still pull the clothes out, but if there a female's, you steal all of the underwear. ;)

when i had to use a shared laundry facility, i did my laundry in the middle of the night, so i wouldn't have to fight people for usage of the machines

I wouldn't remove the clothes because I wouldn't want someone doing that to me. Then again, after three hours things might change.

you remove the clothing but also leave a POLITE note reminding everybody that there are a limited number of machines for X number of people.

What Ohtwell said.

However, from my personal experience, people usually leave a basket for their clothes on top of the machine. There should be one there so you can drop the clothes in there for them and put yours in there.

If there isn't, then it's a tough decision. I mean, what if the top of the machine is dirty? It would be dirtying what people were trying to make clean. Additionally, the person may avenge you by opening your washer throwing your clothes out. Some people are that mean.

So, why not give it a little more time?

It's nice to have a machine of yours to wash at anytime you. *Phew!* But even at home, I sometimes have to deal with family members leaving their clothes in the washer. Of course it's easy since I can just drop it in the dryer for them.

Speaking of . . . why not just add a few coins to put it in the dryer for that person? Uhmm . . . would they realise that their clothes are in the dryer? :/ Okay, this is just too confusing.

That sounds like the most altruistic response yet. Good one, Luvly!

At my school, the generally accepted rule is to wait 20 mins after the load is done. After that those clothes will be lucky to stay off the floor.
