My mother-inlaw is manic depressive pretty bad and sometimes she goes crazy for months at a time when not properly medicated. Well last year when she was crazy, she told a couple at her church that they could just make payments on a car she had for sale. She gave them the title and they have made a whooping 200 bucks in payments towards the car, what outstanding Christians eh? Anyway, I know legally there probably isn't much to be done, but what would you do if scumbags took advantage of a family member of yours? I have their numbers and just left a message telling them to call me ASAP but i don't know what I should do if they don't call. The wife works at Car-mart, I could always embarrass her at work or her church. The guy has disability and doesn't work.

Post it here asap so we all can make fun of you... oh wait. ;)

Just contact a lawyer since the sale was not legal at the time but since you took so long you more then likely lost the car.

Who's name is the car in?
Is there a written contact with the people that have possession?
Does your MIL owe any money on the car?

If the sale happened during that time the sale was illegal but if it was before then see if a lawyer can do anything about it but since you waited so long and never had any kind of legal agreement you could be out of a car.
