I had this issue tonight, I dont know if I can keep it short, but I really want to find out what others think. I take pride in my things and I show respect of others.
I belong to a martial arts school. Its the kind of place that you dont see in strip malls...its in a not-so-great part of town, very combat oriented. Great people go there, the best. Very respectable individuals.
Tonight at class the master was punishing some students for not showing up enough lately, so he asked me to get in my truck and have them push it for about 3 or 4 miles. We do this regularly, but usually its in his minivan. Now, I wasnt too happy about this because I would rather have been inside training, not steering my truck while others pushed. However, when my master asks you to do something you do it.
One younger guy in the class has some issues and the master has taken him in the class as a special favor for his father. Usually he only takes high-calibur people, no behavioral problems, no drugs, no arrests...blah blah blah.
Now this kid was pushing my truck and was obviously very upset about having to do so. A lot of the time he was just walking besides the truck while others pushed and the like. When we started getting close to being finished I looked in the rear-view and saw this kid elbowing and throwing his body into the side of my truck. I immediately stopped the truck. I got out and my first reaction was to start to kick the crap out of this guy, but I knew that if I did that then I would be out of the school right then and there. So I just told him to run back and not to touch my truck again.
When we got back I told my master about what he did and the master came down on him hard....lots of push-ups..."this is your last warning before you are out of here" kind of stuff.
The thing is that I still feel like I should have done something to him personally, and I am home here now all pissed off that I didnt. I like my truck and I intend to keep it for a long time and I can't even think of doing something like that to somebody else's car. :|
