What would you do in this situation?

Playing texas hold 'em with friends. $20 buy in.

I get dealt 10 and 5.

Flop is 5, 5, Ace.
Turn is 2
River is a 7.

Pot gets up to about $25 between me and another guy. We flip over our cards.

I call three 5s.

He calls three 2s.

Then a girl we are playing with says wait, you have a full house, 2s over 5s.

You're supposed to play "what you call is what you get" I didnt want to be a dick about it cause I was playing with friends, but it really pissed me off that I lost $25 on that hand. I just said next time make sure you call a full house.

What would you have done?

Simple house rule - Cards speak. You cannot lose a hand by miscalling it, unless you don't showdown. In my tourneys, I've set the rule that the cards on the table are not to be talked about. The dealer's responsibility is to award the pot to the winning hand.

I think what the girl did was right.

I play at least 2-3 times a month with my friends... they've done it for me, and I've done it for them. no big deal. I don't really mind losing money to my friends.

I have a story about this
On saturday I was playing with my brother and his friends so I play safe, so I dont put in more then 5 on the flop if i have nothing and then fold if i still have nothing on the turn. After the game my brother yells at me and one of his other friends for folding everytime. He says its no fun playing if we dont bet anything. I went ballistic on him because he would do the same. And then his other friends take his side, so me and the other guy he was yelling at are not allowed to play with them any more. (BTW I was happy cause I won the $60 pot that night but it took 3 hours lol) I think he was just mad he didnt win.

next time you play with friends play for $1 or $0.25

how else would you play? go all in on every hand, even when you know you have nothing?
