What would you do in this situation? POLL

What would you do in this situation?

I have a new Logitech G7 gaming laser mouse that I've been using for about 1 week. After a couple days the scroll wheel got screwed up: in about 45 of the 360 degrees of scroll-wheel rotation it will not click-to-the-right (side scroll). In other words, the scrollwheel is a little bit out of alignment. I called Logitech yesterday to RMA the mouse and get a replacement, and they are just flat-out sending me a new mouse, base station, dongle, etc. I protested and said that all I really needed was a replacement MOUSE, not the dongle, etc. but they said they always ship out the entire package. I then asked if I would be getting a label to ship the old mouse back, and they said, "No, just scratch out the serial numbers on your mouse, dongle, & base station and throw it all away." Now, I am DEFINITELY not going to throw this stuff away because it works perfectly except for the slight-scroll wheel problem; it would practically feel SINFUL to toss a piece of working equipment like this. So, my question: if you were in my shoes what would you do; how do you consider the ethics involved?

1) Throw it away
2) Sell it for cheap, stating that it has a scroll-wheel problem and scratched out serial #
3) Keep it as a backup in case the new G7 ever has problems
4) Give it away to a friend or sibling
