Ok, short story. Came into work this morning and found a car in the parking lot that had its whole right side bashed in perty good. Tow truck was getting ready to remove it along with a 2nd one nearby that looked like Godzilla had been crushing beer cans on his head. 3rd vehicle nearby had a little cosmetic damage on the front, but little more. Apparently my understanding is the guy with the bashed in side had stormed out of the office totally p*ssed off this morning that he had to go on a client visit to a client who he absolutely hated to go to, but since they were a big account and they had requested him personally, he had to go.
He got out into the parking lot, jumped in his car, reaved the engine really high several times, then put it into reverse and punched the accelorator...right out into the path of the 2nd car. The 3rd car, a Dodge Ram full size truck was right behind it. Well, you guessed it. Whack, crunch, screach. The whole accident couldn't have happened at more than 35mph tops, but the way the vehicles were hit, car 1 and 2 are totaled. Car 1 was a Toyota Camery, Car 2 was a Chevy Lumina. Well, paramedics showed up, extracted the driver from car 2 and took her to the hospital. The driver in car 1 would have been taken to the hospital, but he had to be cuffed first because when one of the paramedics tried to help him, the dude laid him out on the blacktop.
That's the best description I can give because I got this information second hand. I got there after the fact. Well, anyways. The guy in car 1 got fired. Short story is he had an attitude problem as of late and this was the last straw. The part that bothers me is the drivers of car 2 and the truck both got fired too. I was like WTF?? I'm still baffled why they got fired. The excuse I was given was that they were driving dangerously in the parking lot and contributed to an accident. Do you think that's even right?? Now, the driver of car 1 I can understand to a point, but the other two??? They were innocent bystanders for the most part. I agree that they were probubly driving too fast in the parking lot, but how's that grounds for termination?
Cliff Notes: 3 people had an accident in the parking lot. The one that caused it got fired. The other two that were innocent participants got fired too. How is that grounds for termination?
