What would you do if you were the father in this situation?

That would never happen because I don't live other people's lives for them. I give advice, and let my daughter make her own mistakes. That's what growing up is about.

Good of him to stand up to him but by the "I'll be deciding" remark it's like swapping one bully for the other. Annie should decide who she is with.

So Annie is a college student and her Dad is spending several thousand dollars a year supporting her?

I like how both Mike and Annie's dad seem to think Annie's incapable of making this decision.

The ages of the two kids make a big difference.

And what does quote is inspired from a character... even mean? Are you writing Suits fanfic?

Been there, done that though I usually don't remark on these type of things.

I was the kid standing up at the time, and was a Marine at the time, both families never got along with each other, and she pulled all kinds of crap and ended up getting a Divorce after 5 years.

Mike making a move at that point would have been more than stupid, personally it sounds to me the families are not gonna be compatible to begin with.

Then dated awhile and married a second wife that was her idea that had a Masters in Psychology and was independent.

That didn't work out either, lasted about 6 months after we had been dating a year and a half.

Finally moved to FL and ran into a woman I met and we seemed to have a lot in common. Due to no families in the area other than her sister, we've been married 20 years now and happy.

My two cents.

also both the dad and boyfriend sound like idiots. Annie should have stood up and said "hey! fuckfaces! i have a say who i go out with too you know" and sat down.
