What would you do with an extra million dollars? (Of course I mean after you get your second million dollars because you spent the first mill on H&B)

I'd probably put a fair bit into investments for an earlier retirement but then do more of our traveling outside of cattle class. I'd also finally book that expensive trip to Antarctica. After that it would probably just be some small stuff like paying to do some stuff around the house I haven't gotten too yet (ex adding a larger backyard patio and walkway) Or replacing a car a year or two sooner than our usual 8-10

IMO, one million is still not enough to retire on.

The only debt we have is a few low interest mortgages, 2 low interest car loans and 3K in cc debt that will be paid off in 2-3 months. I wouldn't pay off the low interest stuff since the interest rates are pretty favorable. Car loans are 2% and mortgages are 3.25%.

I'd continue working at my career but with the million in pocket we would probably buy an apartment building, maybe a 10 unit and use whats left to repair, upgrade if needed and maintain it. Then form a property management company which will handle tenant interaction, lease enforcement and grounds keeping. Either a large residential multi-dwelling or a small strip mall with 3-4 commercial storefronts.

$500K into a downpayment since condos and townhouses around here are $1-$1.5 million. 15/yr fixed mortgage.

$100K into Bitcoin once a golden cross event occurs (when a bear market turns bull - bottom will be missed by then but still be early)

$100K into bullion that's bolted to the floor.

$300K into growth stocks.

Spend the next 15 years maxing out retirement accounts and paying off the mortgage. Should be able to consider retiring then, or at the very least, switching from full time to part time.

A bit for a vacation, invest the rest, go back to work.

1 million really doesn't go very far anymore...

Pay off my home, stick about $200k in my daughter's 529 account, and invest the rest.

Buy land in the PNW, have a house built, and invest the rest.

Probably buy a couple musical instruments too.

Buy a place in Aruba that I could rent out for $$$ and also use whenever I wanted to visit. Then use the rest to pay off my house probably.

Then eventually I'd move to Aruba and live in the place I bought.

Invest it. Maybe simply buy international biz class tickets instead of upgrading.

the correct answer is: i do not know.

this also applies to everyone else who has never had a million dollars disposable cash, because that money changes your mind.

possibly, i'd open my own Unagi restaurant so i would always have free unagi.

Retire, move to small farm house in mountains, buy cheap house. Grow weed, chickens and mushrooms. Then I can take a trip and never leave the farm!

Pay off the house, let my wife retire and put the rest into investments.

I'd be tempted to retire because $1 million is my retirement number, but I'd probably invest nearly all of it, use some to pay off my mortgage, and continue working for the next five or so years while saving as much as possible and not giving a f***.

I would invest some of the money, reduce the amount of hours i would work and then try to come up with a silver egg idea that i would try to sell as a kickstarter campaign and then when there are enough buyers, let a large amount of this product to be produced in enough quantity at once to make a profit.
Then retire to a cheap place and only do what i like.
