What would you do if the war came home? (U.S. soil)

I was sitting here a few minutes ago reading the thread about Anthrax, when all the power went out for about 5 min. It really got me a thinking, what would I do if the war came home??

um..... take up arms and shoot people in the butt??

Wasn't Hawaii only a military outpost when Pearl Harbor, and not even a state when it was attacked by the Japanese during WWII?

How exactly would they go about invading the United States?

I don't know how they would do it.. This is a what if question....... How about the taliban loaded up every soilder and tank they have... land on the east or west coast and start going to town..... Not like they can do this... but this is a what if question......

To my knowledge there hasn't been a war on u.s. Terrain for a long time. where the primary fighting was done on U.S. soil... Just asking what if that was to ever happen?

You can always flee to Canada. Honestly, I have no idea what I would do if war came home. I haven't thought about that because as an American, I feel so sheltered here. Such thoughts were preposterous, until now.

Really? Was McVeigh funded, trained, and harboured by the goverment of a foreign state?
Let's not kid ourselves. The Taliban answers to Bin Laden... not the other way around.... and such was said by a Taliban defector in an interview with a British newspaper.

Just because they didnt come waiving thier flag doesnt mean this wasnt an attack by a foriegn state.

Well this country was born in that situation and we were very strong then, I know we would prevail. These people are cowards, once discovered they would fall quickly.

When it comes to the support on this war from their side I don't at all belive it's just Bin Laden, yes he's a Millionaire but for as long as he's been doing it and whats been going on some of this needs more then Millions, I think Saddam is behind a lot of this again, after all he's got a lot more money and resources at his hands then Laden does.

I can't think of one arabic nation that has a Navy or Air Force capable of mounting an assault on us on our own soil. They just can't get here in masses.

I would take up arms in some way, but unfortunately, I have the sick feeling that terrorists will use a small nuclear device or a bio/chemical weapon next time. God help the Middle East if the terrorists ever do that here. I wouldn't think twice about turning all those countries into one big piece of silicon!

Its not a question because it can't happen. The Taliban doesn't have the resources to load up any soldiers and tanks and land them on US soil. They don't have planes (anymore), and they don't have a navy, so that is not even a possibility.

Something tells me that trying to invade a country with the largest amount of civilian owned firearms would be a very, very, bad idea.
