Why not, I live in amarillo, tx which is home to one of the primary targets of Russian ICBMs. It's called Pantex, and is home to hundreds of nuclear warheads. I'd be dust in seconds.

Actually, Amarillo might be small enough to get out of in time. Grab a fast car drive and upwind as fast as possible. (Provided you had a one hour warning).

sweet, a thermonuclear exchange to determine the future leadership of the earth.

I would stage myself to take over when the dust settles.

Well seeing as how Russia has no real reason to shoot them at the US, they would fire them at Chechnya before the shot at US. Mutual Assured Destruction or what ever it is called will keep this from ever happening. As soon as a launch is detected, every minute man silo and sub in the US arsenal would retailiate, along with the flights of B-52 that are always in the air. It would be a free for all, and All I can hope for is that the US has a few aimed at France. If we are gonna go, take those snobs out too.

A thread without french-bashing is a wasted thread :)

Well, if I'm in one of the target areas (probably am, lots of military/airport stuff around plus Wright Patterson AFB in Columbus) I'll find a spot to get a nice view of the flash.

I'd post about it on ATOT and get into a flamewar with the neocons in P&N.

Apparently I'm the only one who watched the videos of our troops being in trenches near ground zero during atomic testing.. IIRC, the dialogue said something about "being ready for the nuclear battlefield of the future." Bomb goes off, it looks like a hurricane passing over their heads... they get out of the trenches, and with the narrator stating "it's important that they remove radioactive dust", they use whisk brooms to dust each other off...

That video is golden!
It's on one of those online archives someplace.

In other words, I'm going to go down to my basement, and live through it. Besides, I'm moving to a county with virtually no industries. Pretty safe area if you ask me, unless the Russians have targetted large dairy farms.

Well, knowing my luck, the alert would come while I was at work. Since I work so far from home, I would try to make it home to be with my wife and family, but inevitably end up stuck in traffic chaos. Since my home is relatively close to what I would assume to be on the list of primary targets, my family would be annihilated. I would get to see the explosion while sitting in my car, my view partially obstructed by the mountains. I would eventually end up in a fall out shelter of some sort, where I would live my last days dying of radiation poisoning, hunger, grief, and despair...

Such a very very very wonderful thought, thanks for the nightmares.

Actually, I'd probably not run anywhere. Since I work so close to the Blue Cube, it's pointless. There'd be a missile heading my way for sure. The only chance of survival would probably be to run _to_ the Blue Cube and b!tch and moan at the guards to let me in their shelter. If that fails, run across the airfield and do the same at the Lockheed Martin gates. :)

ROFLMAO THAT WAS GREAT

hide in my neighbors underground bomb shelter. It's 20 feet down and encased in two feet of concrete!
