I would attempt to make it to a "safe" area with my wife and kid. If we were stuck in a primary area, then i wouldd just hold them tight and tell my son that we are going to be ok, that God has decided to call us home.

If I could not get to my kid or wife, I would tell them to get the hell out of dodge, and head for the safer areas, i would then just stand there and wait for it to hit, because I want to go quickly, not linger and suffer from radiation poisoning.

If I am at home, and it is my kid and I, and my wife stuck at work? Call her up, let her say good bye to us, tell her that I will see her in heaven one day, then Sean and I would do our best to get out of town.

there are a bunch of bomb shelters in my town. pretty much every major civic building built after WW2 has one.

I'd probably load up my backpack with my laptop and all the food in the apartment, and run over to the nearest one (2 blocks from my apartment).

I'm guessing the majority of the people in my town don't know about them, though... the only reason I do is because I did a report on them for an 8th grade local history class.

I think we all know what I would do. It would probably involve babes, frenching, porking, flying, stabbing, and wailing (probably wailing a fast "armageddon" type heavy metal song would be appropriate). Here's the surprise. Right before one of the Missiles hit my city, I'd pop a huge boner (probably bigger than the biggest blackest boner alive) and bat the missile away like I was Barry Bonds on "the cream". Then I'd finish with a 1980s power ballard that would be certain to call in all the hot babes.

besides the fact that is a very likely scenario? If you live in a huge mtropolitan area like that, your chance of surivial is very close to 0

he raises a good point. I'm in NJ, about 5 miles outside of NYC. with only a couple hours warning, there's no way you'd be able to escape. that's why I figure my best bet is to head over to a bomb shelter.

with just Christmas traffic, it's taken me over an hour to drive 10 miles on the highway. with run for your life traffic, you wouldn't make half that distance (especially once the roads clog from all the inevitable auto accidents that would occur).

edit: my friends and I used to have this discussion all the time as kids, especially in the years before USSR fell.

Actually, I'd probably not run anywhere. Since I work so close to the Blue Cube, it's pointless. There'd be a missile heading my way for sure. The only chance of survival would probably be to run _to_ the Blue Cube and b!tch and moan at the guards to let me in their shelter. If that fails, run across the airfield and do the same at the Lockheed Martin gates.

I wouldn't count on it. They did a missile test about 3 weeks ago. That was one of the missiles, that have been on high alert for years: they replaced the warhead with a dummy and did a test launch to see if it works. It took off without a hitch and landed perfectly in a remote Kamchatka region.
