I saw that the other day, so the US actually doesn't have ketchup chips at all?! That seems so weird to me. Normally they have stuff we don't.

I'm sure this was more about the trip than just the chips though, they probably just wanted to do a long road trip and figured they may as well have a purpose for it.
They do have ketchup chips regionally just not nationally like we do.

When I was a kid in the late 60s early 70s a bag of chips was 10c and big. I used to buy it from the local hotdog truck in my neighborhood in Queens and I would put ketchup in the bag and shake it up. I guess it was ghetto French fries. It is a good taste.
