Combining the alien theme and the computer field idea, how about some sort of a crop circle (could be a SETI logo) in a field of computers?

The field idea would work better for a poster, as opposed to a logo. A logo should be simple and get you in mind of the subject it represents. Golden arches=McDonald's, etc.
