All the Republicans would get banned. But somehow they would still blame Fox News for not being able to pass Healthcare reform and claim that 100% is not a majority in congress.

Freedom of speech would die. :)

Not that our mods don't do a good job, but by the nature of their duty they stop some topics.

That's because freedom of speech only applies to government. AT is a private company, and they can choose what speech is allowed on their website and what is not.

It's interesting to ponder. I suppose nothing could be done until the rules (TOS) are established. So what would these be?

1) civility

2) be as decent as basic cable tv

3) no member callouts

4) ...

I think it would be interesting if, on cspan, a lawmaker would suddenly vanish in the middle of making one the many stupid speeches. This could spawn a whole new genre of commentators. There would then be debate about whether the commentators should be moderated...

Yes, we know that. The thread was about if AT Mods controlled the government. So it wouldn't be a private company anymore. :)

2 things I can say for certain. Bush would be put on trial and some poor sucker selling his copy of Windows 7 on Craigslist would be in deep shit.

First, all the congress members will have to publicly display in bold letters any company who sponsors them. Other than that, the govt will turn from an obscure oligarchy into an open oligarchy/dictatorship.

The premise of this thread is stupid.

/but if it gives some folks an outlet to whine, then whine away...
//and I'll laugh....

I think all the mods would do the right thing and fire themselves. But for the most part........ The mods are are pretty open and understanding. But what do I know?

Like those scout patches or decals on cars, right on their clothing. The bigger the contribution, the bigger the patch.

For the most part the mods are a pretty reasonable bunch. I don't always agree, but CC, Fern, Hayabusa, Elfenix etc do a solid job. Harvey is a nut with regards to politics, but he's a good mod.

Clearly those who have had more of a civic duty would be above those rules if we are going by the moderator rules on this forum. For instance, A senior senator would get a pass on something a junior senator would not.

and rightly so I might add....

Yet Obama continues many of Bush's supposidly illegal activities and we give him the peace prize.

I think the real reason President Obama got the Nobel peace price was the world breathed a sigh of relief after we got rid of the war mongerring dictator.
