What would perform better?

I was looking at Corsair's memory, and was curious as to what would perform better if it was loaded in to a server MoBo. They Have 512 MB pieces at 2-3-2-6, and 1GB pieces at 3-3-3-8. What do you think would perform better? (this is all registered memory)

It entirely depends upon the kind of traffic you expect to get. For smaller traffic loads (I don't know what these are), the 512 MB will do good. Otherwise, more, more more and latency be damned!

What kind of server is it? Xeon? Opteron? Dual or single CPU? To be honest, 4GB is already more RAM than you will need to game for quite a long while. If it is a K8 setup, then tighter timings are preferred so go with 512MB sticks.

What? Did you manage to get ahold of a server and now you want to use it as a PC to play games on it?

XP can't use more than 2GB for a thread. You should just go with the fastest memory if you're not actually using it as a server, becuase the difference between 2GB and 8GB isn't going to matter.
