Partly right, an obvious continuation of the Bush/Hannity/Rush Regime Brainwashing effect. There were a ton of Iraq War threads in OT so this area was created and was originally named Iraq War Forum.

Then Bush landed on the Carrier and the War was declared over. The Mods didn't want Politics in general to return to the OT area so it was suggested to re-name the Forum Politics and News.

Funny how you can take me simply saying when the forum started and essentially troll the whole thread. I'm amazed what you get away with when you've got an "elite member" tag under your name.

Anyhoo, my recollection is that a few months after 9/11 the forum was started because of all the discussion. The archives only go back to 2003, I'm guessing because they only archive back to then? Maybe I'm wrong, but I could swear I remember posting well before then...

I'm probably just blinded by my love for Bush and can't recall.
