What would it take to receive my own domain emails?

I own a domain and would like to be able to receive emails addressed to that domain on my own without having to pay a middleman. I have a fast cable internet connection and an server available which I can load it with just about anything.

If anyone knows how to do this, please post what I would need to do/buy for this to work. Thanks.

Money wise? Nothing if you have a domain.

First make your Network available to the Internet.

Then install a Mail server on one computer. Configure the correct port forwarding in both the Router and the Software Firewall and enjoy the magic.

Which Mail server? There is no definite answer there is many of them, some free, varying in capacity and complexity you would have to look at few and decide for yourself.

My personal favorite is Free DeskNow for complex group service.

Free Mail Enable for individual user.
