What would it take to get you to march?

1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, people use to march. March for this cause, march for that cause. Racism, abortion, immigration rights, whatever.

Nowadays people don't really march at all. In Europe it's more prevalent to see a large crowd in angst.

What would it take for you to get out on the streets? What is that worthy cause that would drive you to take action?

At this point, we'd first have to finish getting through April, then May, followed by all the other months, and ultimately February 2010. After all that, we'd finally get to March.

How many americans can survive a march of any distance? They can barely walk to the tv to change the channel when they lose the remote.

in 2001 i went to a protest organized by Bob Kunst, to protest the
stolen election. he organized it at the Academy Awards, outside
the old Temple theater in LA. we got there early & got a place right
across from the entrance to the theater, about 40 yards worth of
protesters.

Bob organized it with the LAPD. it was very odd having them
protecting us.

it was also fascinating to see how the "Hollywood rank" system works.
the top stars pull up in limos (right in front of us), and go into the
theater. lesser stars have to stand in a line outside, which means
there was nothing for them to do but listen to us protesters.

the FBI or somebody was positioned on top of 2 buildings, pointing
their cameras right at us trouble-makers.

the whole thing was pretty intense. obviously it didn't make much
of a difference, although that was the last year they had the Academy
Awards at the Temple theater.

bladder control is important if you're going to a march or protest.

good way to get a tan, too.

I'll spend 5-10 minutes looking for the remote before I'd think of changing the channel manually. I'd be lost without that bloody thing.

The only amendment that matters!

Went to a protest a few months ago when we had a bit of a political flare-up here in Canada.

Then of course, its the Million Man Marijuana March in a few weeks, I'll go if I'm bored.
