What would improve my gaming experience and/or performance the most?

I have alittle bit over 300 dollars to spend on an upgrade.(I'm trying to see if I can pull in more money in another week since)

My current pc specs are down below.
I also have an old ViewSonic A70 17" CRT monitor(still servicable but you can tell its aging...bought it in 97')
Old polkaudio 2.0 speakers(ditto^)

Option#1:Another gig of RAM
Option#2😛CI-E X800XL or 6800GT
Option#3:A new 17" LCD monitor and new 2.0speakers

A another note is my desk is pretty small and I have a bunch of stuff on it so I'm really limited to 2.0 speakers.(which is fine with me).And any combination of the above stuff would work too if you can fit it below or around 300 dollars.

What do you think?...

Edit:And an option#4:A aftermarket heatsink for ocing.

It's kind of more of a personal thing. I'd go with the videocard, since it will give you the biggest framerate boost. Also in my opinion, a 17" LCD is a downgrade over a 17" CRT 😛 (unless yours from '97 is pretty bad). Your CPU is great, surprised u didn't get a better OC out of it, and the stock HSF is good.

Yeah my monitor is pretty old it occasionally blinks and the screen turns purple. And I have stock coolings for my cpu so I dont want to oc it big time or maybe its cuz I dont know how to oc properly(I use clock gen btw)...anything over 2.4 and my computer shuts down.

I would go with the monitor, considering how old and crappy your current monitor is.

I just wouldn't feel good sitting down and looking at an 8 year old monitor.

But I guess it depends which games you play.

yea go with a $250 dollar 17 or 19 inch LCD and get the Logitech X-530's

or save another $75 and get a 7800GT

6800GT + aftermarket cooler and run @Ultra.

Everybody wins.

Get a X800gto2 & overclock it to a X850XT PE like Prodigy said thats $200.00 sell your 6600gt for a little over $100.00 that would leave you $200.00 to buy the Acer LCD.

I would not change speakers since they should be fine. Computer speakers are crap anyway. I use a mini component system that I had sitting around doing nothing as computer speakers. If you got some old amp + speakers from your dad's era, hook them up! 🙂
spend ytour money on display, your monitor has to go. I am still a CRT guy, currently running Viewsonic PS-790 and it is rock solid. Do you have space behind the desk? if you do, you can get a CRT, if not, you will have to go LCD. so go with monitor and more memory.

Klipsch 2.0 Promedia...$99 bucks. It's almost a small bookshelf. Other than the Swan M200s, I don't think any computer satellite speakers offer the level of balance of and clarity as the 2.0s.
