What would I need to be doing to require 1gig of RAM???

I will be the first to mention that the average user does not need anywhere near 1GB of RAM. 512MB should be enough for most power users and 256MB is still enough for most AOL/ home type users. If you are not using anywhere near your max memory adding more isn't going to help very much, if you are however, there is no better upgrade.

never been at a gig yet, but i have 768 on my machine, seems like a good inbetween number, i know i've used over 600+ when playing some games, my next box will have 1 gig for sure, especially if prices remain the same...
