What would human society be in a hundred years???

My assumption is that the fundamental cause of evil and oppression is man's dependence on his fellow men. For example : A man is forced to depend upon an institution called government for security. This causes him to force to live under the rules framed by this government.

Similarly a man is forced to depend on corporate institutions for his job, he is forced to depend upon them inspite of arbitary rules to exploit him.

Similarly a man is forced to conform to the rules of the society he lives in. Any views of his conflicting with that of the society would lead to rejection.

Similarly a man is forced to depend upon the opposition for protecting his freedom from the state, inspite of the fact that they serve their own agenda of pursuing power.

So would mankind achieve a state where he would not need to depend on his fellow man anymore. Such a society would permit man to speak the truth without fear of retaliation by the state.

The west does provides a state of freedom similar to the above, but even it has restrictions and right now, much of that freedom has evaporated under the pressures of national security.

So do you think man will really be free in a hundred years with help from inventions which will lessen his dependence on his fellow men????

there are so many anarchists on ATOT

No, I'am not an anarchist.

If you read my OP properly, you would notice that I have mentioned that man is being oppressed by those claiming to be the opposition. The opposition would also include anarchists fighting the govt for their own interest.

Pfft. In the US, a "free" country, there are far too many laws on the books that are motivated by puritannical values and the legislation of morality. "Dry" states/counties, laws against sex toys and sex acts, the "War on Drugs" and the fact that marijuana is illegal whereas alcohol is not. And so forth.

In a hundred years, these things will not change here in the US. Not unless something forces social upheval on a grand scale.

Trading in society leads to efficiency. If you don't give up a little to the government, who is going to protect you from your land? If you don't work in a coporation, are you better off toiling away in a field to grow your food?

I just hope we don't end up in a Nausicaa type environment. As much as I like the story, it's deffinitely one of those "great place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there" kind of things.
