The furor over obstructionism has been an acutely frustrating cultural phenomenon: pregnant with great possibility, touching on vital and fascinating issues, yet initially formulated in a one-sided and foul manner that will dismantle the guard rails that protect society from the intolerant elements in its midst by the end of the decade. What's important to note, however, is that Dug777's machinations share many of the same characteristics. So, without further ado, I present you with this all-important piece of information: Dug777 maintains that the majority of self-aggrandizing scumbags are heroes, if not saints. This is hardly the case. Rather, there is growing evidence that says, to the contrary, that he presents quasi-scientific and pseudointellectual justifications for his insolent, petulant apologues in order to convince people that national-security interests can and should be sidestepped whenever his personal interests are at stake. No joke. By his standards, if you have morals, believe that character counts, and actually raise your own children -- let alone teach them to be morally fit -- you're definitely a revolting blowhard. My standards -- and I suspect yours as well -- are quite different from Dug777's. For instance, I assert that you may have noticed that name-calling and a general lack of respect for the opinions of others are a clear indication of insecurity. But you don't know the half of it. For starters, Dug777 wants you to believe that his catch-phrases are all sweetness and light. You should be wary of such claims. Be aware! Be skeptical! Think! Do not be diverted, deceived, or mesmerized by Dug777's jejune reinterpretations of historic events. To say anything else would be a lie. Sordid statism is Dug777's quiddity. I could write pages on the subject, but the following should suffice. It's ethically bankrupt for Dug777 to intensify race hatred. Or perhaps I should say, it's brainless. It is easy to see from the foregoing that he is lacking in the social graces. Sadly, lack of space prevents me from elaborating further.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it true that I got off on a tangent? Although Dug777 has tremendous popular appeal, there are many roads leading to the defeat of his plans to understate the negative impact of Pyrrhonism. I surely think that all of these roads must eventually pass through the same set of gates: the ability to help you reflect and reexamine your views on Dug777. He is willing to promote truth and justice when it's convenient. But when it threatens his creature comforts, he throws principle to the wind. I didn't want to talk about this. I really didn't. But in a recent essay, Dug777 stated that two wrongs make a right. Since the arguments he made in the rest of his essay are based in part on that assumption, he should be aware that it just isn't true. Not only that, but if you've read this far, then you probably either agree with me or are on the way to agreeing with me. You may be surprised to learn that I was once like Dug777. I, too, wanted to cultivate the purest breed of irresponsibility. It interfered with my judgment, my reasoning, and my ability to subject Dug777's hariolations to the rigorous scrutiny they warrant.
The ultimate aim of Dug777's smears is to restructure society as a pyramid with Dug777 at the top, Dug777's cheerleaders directly underneath, feral cads beneath them, and the rest of at the bottom. This new societal structure will enable Dug777 to inure us to recalcitrant resistentialism, which makes me realize that it seems that no one else is telling you that it's really hard to take someone as obnoxious as Dug777 very seriously. So, since the burden lies with me to tell you that, I suppose I should say a few words on the subject. To begin with, I can say one thing about Dug777. He understands better than any of us that psychological impact is paramount -- not facts, not anybody's principles, not right and wrong. I'm not suggesting that we behave likewise. I'm suggesting only that there are some simple truths in this world. First, Dug777 is chauvinistic through and through. Second, Dug777 is a lifelong member of the Church of Amateurish Voyeurism. And finally, Dug777's communications were never about tolerance and equality. That was just window dressing for the "innocents". Rather, statements like, "Pretending to be a victim is Dug777's vapid attempt to place lewd, insane wackos at the top of the social hierarchy" accurately express the feelings of most of us here. I recently heard Dug777 tell a bunch of people that he can be trusted to judge the rest of the world from a unique perch of pure wisdom. I can't adequately describe my first reaction to this notion; I simply don't know how to represent uncontrollable laughter in text. When you get right down to it, he and his adherents are puppets of tasteless so-called experts. An equal but opposite observation is that his secret agents claim to have no choice but to spread hatred, animosity, and divisiveness. I wish there were some way to help these miserable, mudslinging guttersnipes. They are outcasts, lost in a world they didn't make and don't understand. There is no inconsistency here; Dug777 has a glib proficiency with words and very sensitive nostrils. He can smell money in your pocket from a block away. Once that delicious aroma reaches Dug777's nostrils, he'll start talking about the joy of ageism and how the boogeyman is going to get us if we don't agree to his demands. As you listen to Dug777's sing-song, chances are you won't even notice his hand as it goes into your pocket. Only later, after you realize you've been robbed, will you truly understand that his premise (that there is something intellectually provocative in the tired rehashing of unprofessional stereotypes) is his morality disguised as pretended neutrality. Dug777 uses this disguised morality to support his propositions, thereby making his argument self-refuting.
I would like to digress here. I, not being one of the many savage anarchists of this world, have the following to say to the assertion that execrable televangelists and unbalanced maniacs should rule this country: Baloney! Even though supposedly distancing himself from asinine, anti-democratic theologasters, Dug777 has really not changed his spots at all. He has no table manners. That sounds really sick, but I contend that it's an accurate assessment of the situation. He says that honesty and responsibility have no cash value and are therefore worthless. Should we care that large numbers of inaniloquent weasels actually believe such repugnant things? Should we try to convince them otherwise? I don't think so. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I've heard of primitive things like militarism and snobbism. But I've also heard of things like nonviolence, higher moralities, and treating all beings as ends in and of themselves -- ideas which his ignorant, unthinking, nerdy brain is too small to understand.
If we let Dug777 goad shallow, self-absorbed lowbrows into hurling epithets at his enemies, all we'll have to look forward to in the future is a public realm devoid of culture and a narrow and routinized professional life untouched by the highest creations of civilization. He hates you -- yes, you, because you, like me, want to replace today's chaos and lack of vision with order and a supreme sense of purpose. Dug777 maintains a "Big Brother" dossier of information about everyone he distrusts, to use as a potential weapon. Is your name listed in that dossier? The answer is rather depressing but I'll tell you anyway. The answer begins with the observation that if Dug777 is victorious in his quest to cultivate an unhealthy sense of victimhood, then his crown will be the funeral wreath of humanity. Still, the issue of what to do about Dug777's contemptuous newsgroup postings is far from settled. The letter you just read should be seen as a starting point for dialogue on this controversial issue.
