What would happen to our society if a UFO was clearly seen by a large crowd of people and couldn't be proven otherwise?

What do you think might happen on an everyday level? It's kind of vauge but think about it.. finally proof that there's intelligent life capable of flying into our atmosphere, would it cause us to allocate more money to space watching and 'interstellar defense'? Would it cause some religious fanatics to denounce their faith? I know this is so highly unlikely and I don't even believe in UFO's simply because other worlds are so far away and the chance that some intelligent life has managed to discover how to circumvent astro physics and such is too much of a longshot for me to believe true. But still, if it were true and some UFO had become low enough in flight to be seen by an abnormally large group of people or documented by video clearly.. what would it really do to us as a society? Flame on! :evil:

Not much would happen.

UFOs have nothing to do with religion, so nothing there.

We could not possibly defend ourselves against such beings, so defense is silly.

Looking for them? Sure.

If they flew around the US and half the people saw them, what could anyone do?

THere would be a few suicides, but most people would deal, and hope they don't have an eye on our real estate, or a taste for human flesh.

I did see it, but regardless the 'summoning' aspect is more rediculous then the theory of UFOs in general. I would have believed him at all if he said something like he's got a UFO on his ass just because he's black heh. But I'm calling 1-800-Shenanigans on 'summoning' one.
