plugs are TOTALLY different. BUT it would instantly fry the dryr and possibly start a fire. Not likely though.

Would it blow the fuse or trip the breaker? Or just go straight to the fire?

The cord on the dryer would go red hot and then the breaker would trip. Then, the cord insulation would drip onto you and melt your skin.

That was assuming that the plug and outlet would interchange, of course.

I'm not an electrician, but I would think that if the breaker can handle the wattage needed for the hairdryer, which it definitely would, then it would not trip. It might, though start a fire in the hairdryer. Oh, and I don't think you can plug a 2 pronged hairdryer in a 4 hole 240v outlet.

It would just break the device, and since it's probably in the bathroom, the socket is a GFI so it would just instantly shut off. A fire is possible but not likely.
