What would cause these directories to appear on my hard drive?

I have two folders on my C drive that I didn't create. I'm on XP Professional and always do Windows Updates every other day when they release.

One folder is called Ý and one is called XYZ. Does anyone know what virus would do that sorta thing? I'm not noticing any large spikes in network traffic...

Run a scan on your drive with Adaware-6 and Spybot Search and Destroy. If it's spyware they will find it. If not right click on them, click properties and see what they contain.
If Adaware and Spybot doesn't allert you to them and the info you get from properties does not sound familiar, do what I do, delet them. If you screw up, you can always do a reinstall. Never be afraid of that machine. If you break it, fix it. Your in the right place to get help........................TaDa!!!!!!!!!!
